Character Costumes

Matt's Costume:

• Leather Jacket

this jacked gives Matt a cool but also serious look, it makes him look causally smart and it may also be associated with strong or 'tough' people e.g. a bouncer or a biker

• Black Shirt

this shirt is used as it gives Matt a casual look but it also makes him come across as someone more serious and more in control as it is not as casual as a t-shirt. this helps depict his dominance and also his authority.

• Dark boot leg Jeans

these Jeans were used because ideally Matt was going to wear trousers but we did not have any that matched, the jeans are also a good fit because it shows Matt to be a serious person as in you would expect a police man to wear smart clothing, the jeans represent the rebellious side in Matts criminal professionalism whilst still giving him a smart/ casual appearance.

• Black trainers

just like the Jeans these trainers were a replacement from the idealistic shoes we would have used however they help emphasis Matt's smart and serious approach to what he does and at the same time points out his rebellious streak.

In summary:

Each of these items of clothing were used to give Matt a casual/ smart look after doing research we wanted to create this character who is smart but does not abide under law so we decided that a smart casual clothing scheme would suit this character best. it also highlights his professionalism as he wears a uniform not that different to what you could expect from a policeman but also showing that he has a rebellious side and a more casual side but that makes him no less serious.
